Disability Prevention

Mental illness does not discriminate. Men and woman of any age, economic status or education can be impacted. In fact, Health Canada estimates that at any given time, 1 in 20 employees will struggle with depression that can lead to lost productivity, decreased workplace safety and increased sick days. Not every employee who is experiencing depression will require time away from work. With the right support and an early intervention it may be possible for some employees to remain at work as they recover.

Support for the Employee and Employer

The goal of a comprehensive prevention program is not simply about reducing the risk of lost workdays, it includes appropriate treatment and recovery for the employee as well as support and consultation for managers.

Employees benefit from a comprehensive assessment, co-ordination of treatment resources and immediate access to specialized counseling to enhance and support recovery. Employers benefit from expert consultation in the management of employees who are experiencing a mental health issue.
